====== 5.25" PC Floppy Drives ====== The Applesauce (rev 2 and higher) works with most PC floppy drives, but requires the PC Drive Cable kit. The cable in this kit is unique to Applesauce, so best to just buy it. ⚠️ The cable has two connectors, but **only connect one drive at a time**! Drives can be configured to be either Drive 1 or Drive 2—the Applesauce will try both. The drive should also be configured for a **non-twisted** cable. If the drive supports both low-density disks (300 RPM) and high-density disks (360 RPM), then it best to allow the Applesauce to control the speed. This way the client software can analyze the flux timings to figure out at which speed the disk was written, then switch to the correct speed for imaging. ⚠️ **Always update the Drive Configuration after changing jumpers!** ---- ===== EPSON ===== ==== SD-700 ==== ^ Step time | 3 ms | ^ Settle time | 15 ms | ^ Jumpers | L-H: **H**, D-S: **D** | Details (specs, jumpers, etc.) ---- ===== Panasonic ===== ==== JU-475 ==== ^ Step time | 3 ms | ^ Settle time | 15 ms | ^ Jumpers | BX | Details (specs, jumpers, etc.) ---- ===== NEC ===== ==== FD1157C ==== ^ Step time | 3 ms | ^ Settle time | 15 ms | ^ Jumpers | ?? | Details (specs, jumpers, etc.) ---- ===== TEAC ===== ==== FD55-GFR ==== Step time: 3 ms (default is 5 ms) ^ Model ^ Jumpers ^ Picture ^ | 149-U | RY, D1, I | | | 193-U | RY, D1, I | | | 7193-U | RY, D1, I | | ==== FD55-GFV ==== ^ Step time | 3 ms | ^ Settle time | 15 ms | ^ Jumpers | ?? | Details (specs, jumpers, etc.) ----
